The staff at FlyersPulse.com would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and/or a Happy Holidays!

A look back at 2012

We hope you’ve had a great year of travels and adventures and that 2013 will be even better! I like to spend this time of year with my family for the holidays, but also use this time of year to look back at my travels and memories.

This past year has been a rocky one, especially with the bankruptcies of Malev, Spanair, and Kingfisher. In the United States, airlines continue to consolidate. However, the consolidation has also brought low cost carriers into new markets, keeping the cost of air travel in-check. Should American and US Airways merge, that is where I would begin to become concerned about increased prices in some markets.

The pre-Christmas travel period has been bumpy with a storm system that hit much of the Midwest and created chaos at important hub airports like Chicago O’Hare. Seats are in high demand and sadly many have had problems getting to their destination because of these weather disruptions.

Travel Photography

If you love taking photos with your travels, as I do, spend a few minutes over the holiday period backing up your travel photos to an external hard disk or a cloud-based backup system.

Looking Forward to 2013 – Fun and New Features

I’m looking forward to 2013 and I hope you are as well.

A recent highlight here in 2012 was a Press Release which we sent out on December 17th, in celebration of taking off into our second year.

As FlyersPulse.com moves into our second year, we’ll have new features for you — more photos, more videos, and the ability to share items like photos. Good photography speaks when words just can’t.

2013 will also be an interesting year in both travel and aviation as it becomes easier to reach new destinations and new, state of the art aircraft are deployed internationally as fleets are renewed.

We’ll also have a readers mailbag where you can write in with your own commercial aviation or travel related question and we’ll provide you with an answer. If you have problems with a specific travel provider, our travel troubleshooter will also take cases on — once the feature launches.

One last addition will be an Asia/Pacific desk with a correspondent taking on issues in the Australian and Pacific markets. Our new correspondent will join us from Melbourne in the 2nd quarter of 2013.

One thing we’d appreciate is your support. To the right there is a Facebook Like and a Google Like button, please use them if you enjoy the content on this site.

On a final note, one of the best things you can do to support FlyersPulse is to use our advertisers, as that is what ultimately pays to keep everything up and running.

Kindest Regards,

Steve Richardson
