Fleet Renewal at British Airways

In a matter of months, the first of many new long-haul aircraft will be delivered. British Airways has finalized the cabin design and layout for its soon to be delivered Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and Airbus A380 aircraft.

The Boeing 747-400, the “Queen of The Skies”, will be moving over to make room for the Airbus A380, soon to be the largest aircraft in the British Airways fleet with two decks and seating for 469 passengers. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner will also be joining the British Airways fleet. The light-weight composite aircraft will seat 214 consumers in comfort with large windows, mood lighting, and cabin pressurization of 6,000 feet above sea level reducing jet-lag upon arrival.

The 24 Dreamliners and 12 A380s will feature the elegant cabin designs fitted on British Airways’ new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

In 2013, British Airways will take delivery of nine new long-haul aircraft, the first being a Dreamliner in May 2013. Three additional Dreamliner aircraft will be delivered by the end of year. The first A380 will be delivered in July, with additional deliveries in August and October, as well as two 777-3000ER aircraft in September and October.
