New: Low Inter-island Fares on Hawaiian Air

Hawaii, known to many as a paradise in the Pacific, is a highly diverse state with multiple islands, spectacular sunny beaches, active volcanoes, and unique landscapes which exceed altitudes above 10,000 feet.

Hawaiian AirHawaiian Air not only offers flights between the US mainland and the Hawaiian Islands but Hawaiian provides a significant network of flights between islands with Boeing 717 jet aircraft. This inter-island network makes Hawaiian Air the best way to travel between islands.

A new fare structure which has been unveiled makes it easier for residents and tourists alike to visit neighboring islands while visiting Hawaii. A new fare structure for Hawaiian residents is also available to stimulate and promote kama’aina travel.

Above is the Haleakala Crater, which was once used for training by NASA for missions to the moon. The Haleakala Crater is at an altitude of nearly 10,000 feet and is part of Haleakala National Park, a United States national park located on the island of Maui. The park covers an area of 33,265 acres, of which 19,270 acres is a wilderness area. The Haleakala Silversword grows here and is a unique plant returning from the brink of extinction.

On a clear day it is possible to see the island of Hawaii, including its two active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa, from the peak of Haleakala. Viewing the sunrise over the island of Hawaii from the top of Haleakala is one of the more popular adventure activities on the island of Maui, as many tour companies will take you up for the sunrise and provide downhill bike tours once outside of the National Park. Other popular activities in the Haleakala up country include hiking and zip-lining and taking in a Luau such as the Old Lahaina Luau on the island of Maui.

One thing that surprises many Hawaiian tourists is how different and diverse each island is. As you travel across the islands you’ll find a wide variety of Eco-systems, terrain, beaches, and activities.

New Interisland Flight Fare Structure

Take-off from Honolulu International Airport (HNL) on Oahu to Kahului Airport (OGG) on the Island of Maui or Lihu’e (LIH) on the Island of Kauaui, for as little as $61 one-way with taxes and fees included with Hawaiian Saver fares. Great fares to Hilo (ITO) and Kona Intl At Keahole Airport (KOA) are also available.

The new rates are available for booking today onHawaiianAirlines.com.

The new fare structure complements the additional neighbor island capacity and routes Hawaiian introduced earlier this year. Over the past year, Hawaiian has increased capacity by 13 percent and created a Maui hub to increase service between the Valley Isle, Kaua’i and Hawai’i Island.

Hawaiian has offered “Hawaiian Saver” fare sales over the last several months as a way to test customer response to a variety of pricing options, explained Peter Ingram, Hawaiian’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.

The Hawaiian Saver fare, which has some restrictions, proved to be attractive to highly cost-conscious travelers. As a result, Hawaiian Saver fares will now anchor the airline’s fare structure as a restricted “guaranteed lowest available fare.” All other base fares have also been reduced to provide attractive pricing throughout the day on all of Hawaiian’s 170 daily neighbor island flights.
