American Airlines To Fly Boeing 777-300ER from Los Angeles

American will be the first US based airline to receive the Boeing 777-300ER with a delivery of 10 aircraft planned for December 2012.

Beginning next summer, the Los Angeles (LAX) to London-Heathrow (LHR) route will be upgauged to the highly anticipated Flagship Aircraft, the Boeing 777-300ER.

The new Boeing 777-300ER will provide an unparalleled travel experience for passengers. First, it’ll be configured as a three-class aircraft offering First Class, Business Class, and the Main Cabin service to passengers. Passengers looking to enhance their experience with additional comfort in the main cabin can opt for the more spacious Main Cabin Extra seats.

First and Business classes will have fully lie-flat seats installed with each seat having aisle access. Not only will in-flight entertainment be offered at each seat, but the aircraft will have satellite based WiFi capability allowing passengers to stay connected.

While it was widely rumored the London-Heathrow (LHR) route would be the first to receive flights on this new aircraft, American Airlines will first deploy the Boeing 777-300ER to Brazil – a fast growing and important market for the airline. Passengers and crew alike will first have the opportunity to travel on AA’s Boeing 777-300ER between American’s Mega-Hub at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Sao Paulo (GRU) in Brazil this December.

The initial rumors were indeed close, with London-Heathrow (LHR) becoming the next market. In February of 2013, passengers traveling to or from London-Heathrow (LHR) via American Airlines Hubs at Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) will be in for a treat as the Boeing 777-300ER’s are used to operate these high demand routes.

American Airlines and British Airways operate a Joint Venture between the United States and London, providing consumers with a wide array of connecting flights at Heathrow on British Airways, Iberia, and other oneworld airlines. American Airlines operates into Heathrow’s Terminal 3 and passengers traveling on British Airways or Iberia can connect to British Airways in the new-build Terminal 5 via the flight connection centre (FCC).
