New Texas Nonstops

US Airways announced that as of September 5th, the airline will begin daily nonstop flights between Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and San Antonio International Airport (SAT).

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is both a US Airways hub and international gateway.  US Airways customers in both cities will not only enjoy nonstop access to Philadelphia, but will have easy access to destinations throughout the East Coast, Canada, Europe and the Middle East when the new flights begin on Sept. 5.

The airline will also begin a sixth daily flight between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Philadelphia (PHL).

Andrew Nocella, Senior Vice President, marketing and planning, said, “The launch of service from Austin and San Antonio to our international gateway at Philadelphia will expand travel options for our customers in Texas.”  Nocella continued, “In addition, we also look forward to offering travelers more access to two of the nation’s top business destinations.”

US Airways will operate service from Philadelphia to Austin and San Antonio on 99-passenger, dual-class Embraer 190 aircraft. The flight schedule is as follows:

The airline will operate its sixth daily flight from Philadelphia to Dallas aboard the 150-passenger, dual-class Airbus 320 aircraft – the schedule for the additional daily flight is:

Charlotte to New York’s JFK

The airline will also add a fourth and fifth daily flight between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and their Charlotte (CLT) hub.  The new frequencies from the airline’s East Coast hubs will allow customers to reach these business destinations with convenient flight times, and will also begin on Sept. 5.

The new flights from Charlotte to John F. Kennedy International Airport will operate on 124-passenger, dual-class Airbus 319 aircraft.  The fourth and fifth frequency will operate as follows:

New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport has great links to public transportation including the Long Island Railroad along with two subway lines via the JFK AirTrain and taxi’s are readily available into Manhattan.
