If your travel plans take you to or through Washington National the next four days (May 7, 2012 to May 11, 2012), have your camera ready to grab a picture of this revolutionary aircraft.

ZA003, the Dream Tour aircraft, is outfit with special cabin features unique to the 787 including a welcoming entryway, larger dimmable windows, larger overhead bins, and dynamic LED lighting.  The cabin is configured with a luxurious business-class cabin, an overhead crew rest compartment and an economy class section.

For the next four days, guests invited by Boeing will be able to see and tour the 787 outfitted with the Dreamliner’s many innovative cabin features.

The aircraft made a perfect landing at Washington’s National Airport and is being well received by guests who have had the opportunity to tour the aircraft.

The next stop on the Boeing Dream Tour is Dallas, Texas, (DFW) on May 11th followed by St. Louis (STL) on May 14th per our article Boeing Dream Tour Continues to UK and USA.

This was the most beautiful sight, watching the Dreamliner land in DC- my son took a day off school just to witness this plane. Only wish he could have gotten a tour of this beauty. He loves all Boeing planes and said he will be working there.

I can’t wake to take my first flight on the Dreamliner!

I had the pleasure of flying the Boeing 787 Dreamliner between Boston and Tokyo. First, the 787 is well designed in the interior – it has the feel of being spacious.

The windows are huge. I had a window seat and there are no window shades but instead the windows dim to block the light out. At night or when most are sleeping, the flight attendants can control the 787 window darkness. For once you can look out the window when the sun is rising, get a decent view, and not be blinded.

There is also mood lighting on board – the 787 lights are all LED and change color to set a mood and supposedly help with jetlag.

Flying on the 787, I kind of felt like a kid in a toy shop as I played with the different features. I hope Boeing is able to increase production on the 787 Dreamliners. Too many old aluminum tubes flying around. Ha!
