JetBlue and LOT Polish Airlines Interline at JFK

JetBlue & LOT Interline Partnership at JFK

A new interline partnership was announced today between New York City based JetBlue and LOT Polish Airlines, Poland’s Flag Carrier.  The new partnership allows customers to book seamless connections via JetBlue’s New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and LOT’s hub at Warsaw’s Chopin Airport (WAW).

While not a formal codeshare, the new interline agreement provides travelers new connections between JetBlue’s network in North America and LOT’s network across Europe, the Middle East, and even Asia.

The agreement allows travelers to book flights on JetBlue and LOT through their travel agency, or via LOT’s call center or website.

To connect the two carriers, LOT provides nonstop flights between New York (JFK) and Warsaw (WAW) where LOT operates their hub with connections to over 45 destinations.  Once in Warsaw, passengers can catch connecting flights to destinations such as Bucharest, Budapest, Belgrade, Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, Riga, Saint Petersburg, Sofia, Tallinn and Vilnius, to name a few of the more popular.

At New York’s JFK airport, JetBlue provides connections between trans-Atlantic flights operated by LOT and numerous business and leisure destinations, such as Buffalo, Charlotte, Pittsburgh and the Raleigh-Durham Research Triangle — or a number of popular destinations in Florida.

Marcin Pirog, CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, said, “We are looking forward to establishing cooperation with JetBlue. LOT has been present in the American market for many years which, from our perspective, offers great development potential.”  Pirog Continues, “Thanks to the agreement with our new partner JetBlue, we are able to offer our passengers a broader choice of connections at the highest standard of service.”

Scott Laurence, JetBlue’s Vice President of network planning and partnerships, said, “JetBlue and LOT Polish Airlines have a lot in common……..The outstanding customer service and revitalized brands continue to surprise customers all over the world and will most definitely do so for LOT and JetBlue connecting customers as they expand their reach into Europe and the Americas.”

JetBlue operates new Airbus A320 family aircraft and the Embraer-190.  All JetBlue aircraft are fit with leather seating and free in-flight entertainment is available on every seatback.  DirecTV satellite television is also available via in-seat personal television units.

LOT Upgrades and Boeing 787

LOT is a well known polish brand which has made changes over the past year; such changes include a new livery, updated cabin crew uniforms, and several enhancements to both inflight and ground products.  LOT is also a member of the Star Alliance.

Additionally, LOT has an order of eight Boeing 787 Dreamliners and will take delivery of the first two 787’s this year, making LOT the first European based global carrier to operate the new aircraft. The airline currently operates Boeing 767 aircraft on the trans-Atlantic route between New York and Warsaw.

LOT and JetBlue Connections at JFK

LOT Polish Airlines is located in Terminal 4 at New York’s JFK airport and JetBlue is located next-door in Terminal 5.

Passengers traveling to or through the United States are required to clear US Customs and Immigration at their first Port of Entry, which is handled by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP).  LOT passengers transferring to a JetBlue flight will be able to drop off their checked luggage after clearing US Customs in Terminal 4.

To transfer between terminals, follow the signage to the JFK AirTrain and use the terminal transfer train.
