Airport Fire at Toronto Pearson Intl Airport

Toronto Pearson (YYZ) Operations Reduced

A utility fire broke-out at Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) this morning, Sunday, March 18th.

Air Canada has released a statement advising travelers that as a result of the fire, airport operations have been reduced and Air Canada along with Air Canada Express are experiencing delays and cancellations.

Other airlines at Toronto, including WestJet, are facing similar problems because the fire reduced the airport’s operating capacity.

Air Canada and other users of Toronto Pearson Airport suggest you check with your airline before departing to the airport.  The Greater Toronto Airport Authority’s website, torontopearson.com, will have the latest flight information.

As a result of the fire, call wait times may be longer than usual at Air Canada and WestJet.
