787 Dreamliner Dream Tour to North America

Boeing 787 Dream Tour | Segment Four

Boeing is preparing for the fourth segment of its round-the-world 787 Dream Tour, kicking off March 1, 2012.  Stops on segment four include key cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

This step of the tour will be a hit as it crosses North America with eight scheduled stops, Toronto, Canada, being the first to welcome ZA003, the Dream Tour Aircraft.

Scott Fancher, vice president and general manager, 787 program, proclaimed, “During the first three segments of the tour, we’ve had almost 25,000 visitors come through the airplane…..Our customers, partners, employees and the finance and leasing communities have all expressed their delight with the airplane.”

The March schedule includes the following stops:

  • March 1-4: Toronto, Ontario, Canada (YYZ) to visit Air Canada and local suppliers;
  • March 4: Boston, Massachusetts, where she’ll set down at Boston Logan Airport (BOS) in support of Japan Airlines, which has announced it will offer 787 service on the Tokyo-Boston route;
  • March 5-7: Newark, New Jersey, to visit United Airlines at Liberty Intl Airport (EWR) and its local stakeholders;
  • March 8-9: Mexico City, Mexico (MEX), to visit Aero Mexico;
  • March 10-12: Phoenix, Arizona (PHX) to visit Honeywell, other suppliers and Boeing employees;
  • March 13: San Diego, California (SAN) to visit Goodrich and other suppliers;
  • March 14-15: Long Beach, California (LGB) to visit leasing companies, Boeing employees and suppliers;
  • March 15-17: Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC) to visit Boeing employees and suppliers.

The Dream Tour aircraft is fit with special 787 cabin features from a welcoming entryway to enormous dimmable windows, large overhead bins, and dynamic LED lighting.  Dates and locations for additional tour stops will be announced approximately one month in advance.

At the end of March, The Dream Tour Plane will be featured at the FIDAE Air Show in Santiago, Chile, to begin the fifth segment of the tour.

Wonderful that the Dreamliner is comming to Toronto.

How do we get an invitation to board.

Thank you,

John Jensen

Do you know anyone who works at Air Canada at Pearson Airport (YYZ) — or any Boeing suppliers? That could be one option.

Additionally, it probably wouldn’t hurt to call the Public Relations office at YYZ. If they’re going to open tours to the public of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, they should be in the know.

Hope you get a chance to climb aboard the 787.

GREAT! cant wait to see it anyone know what time the plane would be landing in Toronto?

Is the general public allowed to tour the inside?

Don’t know what the arrival time in Toronto is, but if you use a site like http://www.flightaware.com/ you might be able to locate the flight. Use CYYZ as the airport code for Pearson.

The code for Boeing is BOE, however, I don’t know what flight number they are using for the Dream Tour. I did a quick view of arrivals into YYZ tomorrow and do not see a public flight plan filed as of yet.

If you go onto FlightAware you can enter BOE001, for example, and see some of the test flights. Try BOE002 as well as other flight numbers if you wish to explore.

As far as tours, the only I am aware of at this point is for Media and some employees of Air Canada as part of Air Canada’s 75th anniversary.

Ask around, see if you know anyone at Air Canada.

If you want to locate Boeing 787-8 aircraft on flightaware, you can also search for “B788”

Currently, a search for B788 yields ANA’s FRA-HND flight. I’ve cut and paste the link from the flight yesterday, if you’ve never used flightaware. It’s an interesting tool.

It is not always accurate, especially outside of North America. Within North America, times are often off by about 10 minutes, part of it for security reasons .. sometimes it also hiccups with aircraft varients – you may see a B733 when the flight is actually on a B737 (a 737-700) or a B738.

Interesting tool.

787 is coming around 2pm

In Boston will you be able to take a tour and test flight of the plane?

Due in at 1:44pm at YYZ / Toronto Pearson Airport.

Boeing Flight # 787 !

Here is the flight Tracking for BOE787
