WestJet to Chicago O’Hare
WestJet will officially begin non-stop flights to The Windy City starting on March 14, 2012. The new routes, from Vancouver (YVR) and from Calgary (YYC) will operate into Chicago’s O’Hare Airport (ORD) using Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft. A WestJet codeshare partner, American Airlines, operates a major hub at O’Hare providing connecting flights to destinations not only within the United States, but around the world.
The carrier will continue to market codeshare flights from Chicago (ORD) to Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Chicago (ORD) to Ottawa (YOW), and Chicago (ORD) to Montreal (YUL) operated by partner American Airlines and American Eagle.
John MacLeod, WestJet Vice-President, Network Management and Alliances, said, “We’re pleased to introduce service to and from Chicago.” MacLeod continues, “The addition of Chicago shows how our continued growth and code-share agreements are working together to provide guests with non-stop service from the East and West. We believe this balance appeals to both business and leisure travellers looking to experience what Chicago has to offer, as well as for northbound travellers looking to visit Banff and the Rocky Mountains via Calgary or board cruise ships from Vancouver. We look forward to welcoming new and returning guests on board these exciting new services.”
Introductory fares will be available on the new routes starting at $149 one-way from Calgary to Chicago and starting at $169 from Vancouver, plus applicable taxes and fees. The new flights can be booked online, through the WestJet sales center, or with your travel agency.
