Salisbury Maryland to Orlando Nonstop
Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport (SBY) doesn’t see many commercial flights — in fact, only one commercial carrier operates here, US Airways Express, with Dash-8 Turbo Prop service to their nearby hubs, Philadelphia (PHL) and Charlotte (CLT). Just as there’s one carrier, the Salisbury-Ocean City airport is the only airport on the Delmarva Peninsula with scheduled service.
Many residents on the Delmarva Peninsula drive to either Norfolk or Baltimore-Washington International in search of cheaper airfares. Allegiant’s focus is on linking travelers in smaller cities to world-class leisure destinations. The area is indeed under-served and has unmet demand, especially for the leisure market.
Allegiant will become the game changer once they start providing non-stop jet service from Salisbury Regional Airport (SBY) to Orlando Sanford International (SFB) on February 16th. Allegaint is well known for their travel deals within the airline industry. To celebrate the new flight, Allegiant has introduced fares as low as $59.99 (plus taxes/fees) one-way.
“Our new partnership with Allegiant gives families a much-welcome link to America’s favorite tourist destination,” said County Executive Rick Pollitt. “We welcome Allegiant with open arms and look forward to many years of mutually rewarding experiences.”
With Central Florida two hours away by air, Salisbury residents will have easy access to the great activities and theme parks Orlando has to offer – Disney, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and much more!
Andrew C. Levy, Allegiant Travel Company President, said, “We’re pleased to bring an affordable and convenient travel option to Salisbury.” Levy continues, “We are confident that the residents of Maryland’s Eastern Shore will appreciate flying nonstop to Orlando and take advantage of the great deals we offer on hotels, car rentals and theme park tickets.”
The new service will be twice weekly between Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport (SBY) and Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB). Allegiant’s $59.99* one-way introductory fare is limited, must be purchased by Dec. 28, 2011, and is valid for travel by May 15, 2012. Introductory fares are not available on all flights.
